down the grand hallways, and straight into the President’s office. “Daddy, this soldier needs to speak to you,” he said. After hearing the soldier’s explanation, President Lincoln granted his request and relieved him from service.
The Bible teaches that the only way into God’s presence, the only way to have His ear, is through faith in His Son Jesus Christ. The story of Easter explains why this is the case. Only He died on the cross for our guilt, and only He rose again from the grave. If we come to God in prayer depending entirely on Jesus, the Bible tells us:/”We are accepted.”
(Ephesians 1:6).
WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY
Our women’s Bible study continues to study the books of Moses in the Old Testament, from Genesis through Deuteronomy.
We meet fortnightly on a Thursday evening to read the Scriptures, discussing what stands out to us and the questions that arise as we read. We try to explain each passage in our own words, as we would to someone who might ask us what we have read and what it’s all about. We want to understand how the various parts of the Bible fit together, the common threads that run throughout, and the relevance of the Scriptures to our lives today. It is good to have a time set aside where we can freely study, talk and pray. Please feel very welcome to join us.
