APRIL 2025
SHARED READY AT
BLABY LIBRARY
This Spring sees the relaunch of Shared Reading in Blaby Library. Shared Reading groups run in libraries across Leicestershire where members say:
‘Shared reading lifts my spirits and keeps me sane’
‘My mind is opened and kept alive and active’
‘I’m introduced to new writers and inspired to read for myself’
We’re delighted to be offering Shared Reading again for the Blaby area.
Blaby Library Shared Reading Group: Every Thursday 11.30am to 1pm Leicestershire Shared Reading work in partnership with national charity ‘The Reader’, whose mission is to offer shared reading experiences to ‘improve wellbeing, reduce loneliness and help us find new meaning in our lives’.
We are both keen readers, who went along to shared reading groups and were quickly hooked, going on to train with The Reader as reader leaders. Every Thursday morning in Blaby Library we’ll bring along stories and poems that have inspired and intrigued us, looking to share reading, responses and thoughts with everyone who comes along.
Shared Reading isn’t a book group, it’s not about analysing literature – we aim to create a welcoming environment where people can meet to share great literature, to read, or listen, and make connections. Join us one Thursday and give it a try: all you need to bring is yourself - and a mug if you like a cuppa with your reading!
