WILLOW SINGERS
WINTER PLANS
Following a delightful summer concert, with tea and cake, at Countesthorpe Village Hall in June, the Willows Singers were able to enjoy a well earned rest and a chance to relish the summer weather with friends and family.
This year, the choir members have chosen to fund raise for the Huntington’s Disease Association and in particular for Mill Lodge in Narborough, which is the only specialist residential care unit in the UK for patients with Huntington’s Disease. Fundraising has already begun, through a raffle and the generosity of the great audience at the concert in June, and we hope to continue to build on this across the year.
We are now very pleased to be busy rehearsing for our October and Christmas concerts which will be held on the following date:
Wednesday 30th October - 7:00pm - at Blaby Methodist Church
Wednesday 18th December - 7:30pm - at St Andrew’s Church. Countesthorpe Look out for further details on our Facebook page, village posters or contact chris.ct.newton@gmail.com.
ACTIVE ARTS NEWS
We have hopefully distributed our current programme of events widely round the village and details are also available on Social Media as well as our usual posters. In fact the first events of the season are taking place while this Herald is in production but on Saturday October 26th the Craft Market will be at Countesthorpe Academy from 10 until 4 with a wide range of stalls including a new refreshment stall which comes highly recommended.
In December we are featuring a concert by LE8 and friends in the village hall then in the run up to Christmas a concert by the Phollies Musical Group which will be in Greenfield Primary School. PatsyP
DELIVERY RESPONSE
A big thank you for a great response to the request for people to deliver copies of the Herald. The team that produce each issue were delighted that people take the time to read each issue and felt it to be an important part of the fabric of the village that they volunteered some of their time to make sure everyone gets a copy.
