OCTOBER 2024
RAINBOW SHOP NEWS
It was good to see all those who were at the Rainbow Shop 40th Birthday celebrations on 14th September. Amongst our number was Rev Brian Davis who so many of us remember starting the shop in what was then the Church Rooms and had of course started as the village school! Brian highlighted the initial meeting to discuss the idea and called in Gill Cramp to help his recollection as she was there as well and has been very involved since. Christian Aid representatives brought videos to highlight the aims of the organisation and to show ways in which the money our treasurer sends off regularly helps the organisation make tangible differences across the world. They brought certificates recording the part Brian had played and one as a thank you for the Rainbow Shop itself We were all thrilled when Sally was able to reveal the amount of money raised over these 40 years by this, the only actual shop in UK raising money for Christian Aid, has now totalled £2750. We joined in songs and prayers and then refreshments - for which thank you cooks - and lively conversation! Rainbow Shop hours will be boosted to encourage more shopping in December
Do look out for details of these changes
