Maud’s mother was having none of it,
“sleeping in London”. You can go for the day but you’re not stopping out. Unbeknown to Maud’s mother Vernon only had good intentions as he wanted to introduce Maud to his parents.
After more arguments with her mother Maud was allowed to go for the day with two girlfriends, with no visit to Vernon’s parents as he could hardly take three girls home.
After the trip Maud worried she wouldn’t hear from Vernon again. At the same time Maud’s mother was very concerned that if their relationship continued her daughter might move away to London. She couldn’t have that, so intervened.

NURSERY SCHOOL
Look at us ready to have fun at the Snowdome’s Winter Wonderland during the Nursery School trip at the beginning of December! Over the Christmas holidays, the Nursery School underwent some internal building work to its utilities and excitingly, during the February half term, a ‘Classroom Loft’ will be installed! This is a mezzanine floor within the main building of the Nursery which will provide further space for teaching. As the new term begins, the teaching focus is on toys, appropriately chosen following Santa’s Christmas Eve visit and each child has had the opportunity to talk about their favourite new toy, bring in a photo and paint a picture of it too. As the weather starts to turn colder, the story of Henry’s Holiday will be introduced and used to help teach the children about hot and cold climates and this is also going to involve dressing-up accordingly!

In February, the Nursery Children will learn about Chinese New Year, which will incorporate a visit to Greenfield Primary School, as they join in the celebrations of the year of the Monkey. This will be swiftly followed by Shrove Tuesday and a pancake race! So all that remains is for me to wish you a very happy new year on
